Juror: Sandy Guinn, Gotcha, Chalk Pastel, 20 x 30", $300

JUROR: Sandy Guinn, www.sandyguinn.com
Sandy Guinn is a working artist as well as an art professor at Community College of Denver. Sandy earned her BFA from Drake University and her MA from Goddard. She exhibits at surreal galleries in Denver and Des Moines. Her most recent passion is chalk pastels. Pastels offer a wonderful opportunity to play with colors, blend, layer them, and create beautiful illusions of texture. She finds it a privilege to teach young artists and strives to inspire and motivate them to explore their own creativity. To find their own voice while embarking on this artistic journey. In her own work she strives to push the boundaries by using an atypical pallet, exaggerated facial expressions on her subject matter, and explore the interplay between light and shadow.
