Calls for Art Guidelines
General Call for Art Guidelines - Unless specified on the individual art shows listed below.
Eligibility: Open to all Colorado artists
Media: Any 2-D or 3-D fine art media, including photography, digital art, clay, glass, jewelry, etc. All work must be original (no prints).
Entries:
Each artist may submit up to three (3) works.
No substitutions of artwork after registration.
Work must not have been shown previously in a Lakewood Arts exhibition.
Size: Maximum size 30” wide
Fees: (Fees are non-refundable.)
Non-Member: $15 each or up to 3 works for $40
LAC Member: $10 each or up to 3 works for $25 (must be a current member)
How to Submit Entries:
Complete registration and pay the entry fee – Register online, in the gallery or by mail to the gallery.
Registration must be RECEIVED by the deadline.
Include the following information with each picture - name, title, medium, size, and price.
Submit Digital Images (Entries) for inclusion in the show’s website virtual gallery:
Email entries to Emi Burr at ekburrdesign@gmail.com by registration deadline.
Subject: “Title of The Show”. Include: Artist name, title, medium, size, and price for each piece.

Specifications:
Works must be dry, framed, or have wrapped, painted edges with staples visible only on the back.
Wall-hung work must be ready for hanging with screw-eyes or D-rings and wire (no saw tooth or clip hangers).
Entries with broken glass, chipped frames, or non-functional wires will not be accepted.
Works must be identified on the back (or bottom if 3-D) with the artist’s name, phone number, and title of work.
Awards: 1st place: $100, 2nd place: $75, 3rd place: $50, Up to 3 Honorable Mentions: (Based on number of entrants)
Sales:
Works must be for sale.
Artists will be notified of any sales at the end of the show.
A 25% commission will be charged on each work sold.
Sold items may be picked up by the purchaser after the end of the show.
Sales will be handled by Lakewood Arts.
Checks will be sent approximately 2 weeks following month end after the closing date of the show.

Call for used art supply donations
Time to clean out that closet! We’ll be accepting used art supply donations starting Friday, January 23rd all throughout February for our used art supply sale from Saturday, January 31st - February 27th, 2026. Stop in anytime during gallery hours to donate. All proceeds will go to our arts education nonprofit (and you’ll clear up some space for some new art supplies)!
Most items for sale will be name your own price - you decide what you think the item is worth. There may be items with a set price depending on the quality and market value of said supply.
We will not be accepting spray paint or aerosols.
Acorn gallery: Identity and belonging, a collage show
Show Dates: Saturday, December 27, 2025 through January 30, 2026
Public Reception: 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Friday, January, 2, 2026 Awards at 6:30 PM.
MEDIUM: Collage - THEME: (theme suggestions)
Dual identity: Creating a collage that visually represents a person's identity as being from two or more distinct cultures.
Sense of place: Juxtaposing images from different parts of the world to create a sense of belonging to multiple places.
Personal history: Using family photos, heirlooms, and other personal items to tell a story about one's cultural background.
IMPORTANT DATES:
Registration Deadline: (postmarked, hand delivered, or online.) December 24th, 2025
Deliver Artwork: At Lakewood Arts – 6501 W. Colfax Ave. Lakewood CO Saturday, December 27, 2025 from 11AM - 12PM
Pick Up Unaccepted Work: Saturday, December 27, 2025 at 2:30PM
Pick Up Work – End of Show: Saturday, January 31, 2026, 9:00AM - 10:30PM
No Early Pick-up. LAC is not liable for late artwork pick-up. There will be a charge of $15 per day.

Mask Pick-Up & Drop-Off: During gallery hours or by appointment
This popular event showcases one-of-a-kind mask artworks by local artists—and we’d love to feature yours!
How to Participate:
• Create and donate original artwork on a full-face papier-mâché mask (provided by the gallery).
• Up to 3 entries per artist. Show limited to 40 masks total.
• All art forms and styles welcome!
• Work must be original and signed.
• Each piece will be sold for $50.
• Choose your donation option: 100% of the sale to Lakewood Arts, or 75% to Lakewood Arts / 25% to artist

5.5 ft x 5.5 ft of prime wall space, front and center.
LAC keeps a 25% commission on each sale.
🌟 Spotlight Wall – Schools & Nonprofits
FREE exhibit space (10 ft x 5 ft) for schools and nonprofit groups.
Art teachers — showcase your students’ work!
Nonprofits — sell art to raise funds for your cause.
🌳 Acorn Gallery – Art Groups
$300/month
59.25 linear feet: 11 double-sided panels + 1 wall.
Includes an 18 ft x 5 ft wall space.
Area can display both 2D & 3D work, with adjustable shelves and space to add additional pedestals.
LAC keeps a 25% commission on each sale.
