Inspire Art Week, Lakewood
INSPIRE Arts Week, May 30 through June 8, 2019, is a 10-day annual event that features free and discounted arts and cultural events through more than 15 Lakewood partner organizations. It includes gallery openings, activities, classes and performances for the whole family. It was born from a community visioning process in 2010, and the event draws attention to the rich and vibrant arts and cultural scene present in Lakewood by connecting the community with its plentiful, diverse and ongoing arts and cultural opportunities and businesses. In 2016, it INSPIRE Arts Week was named "Best Event" in the large community category of the Governor's Awards for Downtown Excellence.

Colorado's Best Juried Show
Open to all Colorado artists. Open theme. Any 2-D or 3-D fine art media, including photography, digital, clay, glass, Jewelry, etc. All work must be original by the artist (No prints from original work). Each artist may submit up to three (3) works. You must pre-register. No substitution of artwork after registration is submitted. Show runs Jun 30 - Jul 26. Registration deadline is Wed, Jun 19. You must be pre-registered to drop off art on Sat, June 29 11 am-noon. Art will be juried live and unaccepted works may be picked up beteen 1-2 pm that same day. Opening reception is Friday, July 5, 5-9 pm. Show ends Fri, July 26 and art must be picked up that day between 2-4 pm or Sat July 27, 11 am-noon.
Visions in Abstract, A Juried Art Show
Open to all Colorado artists with an open theme abstract Any 2-D or 3-D fine art media, including photography, digital, clay, glass, jewelry, etc. All work must be original by the artist (No prints from original work). You must pre-register. NO SUBSTITUTION OF ARTWORK AFTER REGISTRATION IS SUBMITTED. $15 each or up to 3 works for $35 ($10 each or up to 3 for $25 for LAC Members - Must be a current member). Checks payable to Lakewood Arts. (Fees are non-refundable). When applicable, works must be dry, framed, or have wrapped, painted edges with staples visible only on the back. Wall-hung work must be ready for hanging with screw-eyes and wire - no saw tooth or clip hangers. Entries with broken glass, chipped frames, wires that do not work, etc. will not be accepted. Works must be identified on the back (or bottom if 3-D) with the artist’s name, phone, and title of work. Have work ready prior to delivery. Titles and price of artwork cannot be changed. Works will be juried for acceptance into the show.
Prizes: 1st place: $100 2nd place: $ 75 Merit Awards: $ 25 each (Winners will be notified) Works need not be for sale. Artist will be notified in the event of a sale. A 20% COMMISSION WILL BE CHARGED ON EACH WORK SOLD. No insurance is provided. All work sold will be released to buyer at time of purchase.

Registration Deadline: Wednesday, July 17 (postmarked or hand delivered) Artists must pre-register. Each artist may submit up to three (3) works. Be sure to include entry fees! Jurying: Saturday, July 27, 12:00 – 1:30 pm. Pickup of unaccepted work directly after jurying, Saturday, July 27, 1:30 – 4:30 pm Pickup at close of show: Friday, August 23, 2:00 – 4:00 pm or Saturday August 24, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. No early pickup. For work not picked up on time there will be a charge of $15 per work per day. Work not picked up after four (4) days will be forfeited by the artist. LAC is not responsible for artwork not picked up on time.
Reception and awards presentation/First Friday: August 2, 5:00 - 9:00 pm
Garden Tour Fundraiser
The 2019 Lakewood Arts Garden Tour: Saturday, June 22nd, 8:00am-2:30pm. Lunch is included, served at Lakewood Arts Council & Gallery from 11:00am-2:00pm
Tickets: Advance $20; Day of tour $25; includes lunch
There will be 6 gardens on the tour including: a Seniors Community Garden, an organic farm growing vegetables for Denver Best Chefs, a garden inspired by world travels, a small permaculture-based urban farm with cute four and two legged critters, an inspiring working student farm, and a beautiful private garden created by retired geologists. Mountainside Art Guild Show
Open to all members of Mountainside Art Guild, June 2-June 28, 2019. Any wall-hung fine art. Art must be for sale.
Each member may submit up to two (2) original framed works (no prints), with a maximum size of 16 x 20 framed (320 sq in.).
ALL WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED INTO THE SHOW! Over $400 in Awards this year, including including the $250.00 BEST OF SHOW Award generously donated by Barbara Tobiska for both 2018 & 2019 Shows!!
