A 2 hour course of drawing basics: line quality, shape/form, texture, shading, and perspective. Learn to see in a new way and compose a sketch. Students are encouraged to test drive different media, paper and drawing materials: pencil, charcoal, markers, watercolor, pen & ink. Learn the value of working fast, working slow, making many marks and making few. We will compare and contrast many ideas of drawing to expand your horizons and teach you to see more elegantly.
This month’s course will feature different material and media: we will test drive different graphites, charcoals and ink using them straight, smudged and smeared with water on newsprint, bond, charcoal and watercolor papers. We will work with a still life set and practice adding new elements to our work.
