Kim Wright

“My intention as an artist is to create images that evoke an emotion of joy and have a calming effect on all who view them; art that inspires; art that is uplifting; and art that brings hope, light, and joy back into the world. Paintings that help us to exhale the past, breathe in all the beauty we are surrounded by is what inspires me.”

 Colleen Shannon

“I am a mostly self-taught artist. Over the years, I’ve grown to  appreciate abstract art and found that creating it maintains my interest & attention. In my work I use a variety of mediums, but predominantly, acrylic paints, charcoal, pencils and glazes. I’m drawn to bold colors, lines, shapes, marks and movement.

What I find most interesting, however, is that beyond technique and play, painting allows a quiet place within me where intuition opens up. There are many times I get messages and insights into my life, or even worldly issues, while I’m applying a layer of paint or placing a black mark on the canvas. It all comes together to create a unique piece of work.”

“Fascinating. Brilliant. Creative. Foolish. We humans are a reflection of these qualities and a plethora of others. My work seeks to isolate and examine the human condition, as well as provide the viewer with a thought provoking experience into ones inner self. I find that this is best done by exposing the most intimate nature Of humanity, and in contrast the carnal qualities within us all.”

Judy McCann

“I've been working with some type of clay for many years. I have been selling my work at farmer's markets and festivals since 2012.  You can also find my pottery and jewelry at the Majestic Gallery in Idaho Springs. While I make wheel thrown pieces, I continue to add sculptural elements to my work and enjoy building pieces by hand. I make a lot of my own glazes and fire my own kilns. My stoneware creations are fired to cone five, which means the pieces are safe for everyday use.”

Sandy Guinn

I am a contemporary surrealist artist based in Denver Colorado. My practice is fueled by the need to discover – to touch the untouchable. Through imagery on surfaces I can transform dark into light, invisible into visible and death into life.

I earned my BFA from Drake University and my MA from Goddard. I’m a full time professor at Community College of Denver. I exhibit at surreal galleries in Denver and Des Moines.

I work with a variety of clay types depending on what I want to create. I make pieces that are functional, colorful, abstract, sculptural, one dimensional or three dimensional. What can be created is only limited to my imagination. I am working on conventional pottery that is Saggar fired and contemporary pieces that are Altered Clay Slab forms. When I put a piece in the kiln to be fired I never know for sure what is going to come out. It is like Christmas. I can get a marvelous gift or a lump of coal. Every firing is a learning experience.

 Kat Perdue

My go to art style incorporates a mix of treasures from 18th century antiques to modern day postcards and everything in between as a découpage back drop to hand painted acrylics to create an artwork to keep the eye moving deep in to each piece. Most my inspiration comes from travel and collecting along the way. I started my journey in art as far back as I can remember and have worked in some artistic field or another all my life.  Art is life to me

 Judy Vassar

Judy is originally from the SW suburbs of Chicago, but has made Colorado her home since 1990.

She has been creating ceramic sculptures, often referred to as garden or table totems since 2015 - when she retired from teaching art full-time in Colorado. Prior to her teaching career she was a textile designer in NYC/Denver and a graphic designer in Chicago.

Each sculpture is made up of individual “beads” that are handmade by her in her NW Denver garage turned clay studio. She uses a variety of hand building construction methods to create each bead and finial. Making each bead unique and a bit funky is her interest. The finials (toppers) are primarily stylized birds, but dogs, cats and bees are also a part of her repertoire. Typically, Judy has a wide variety of beads to choose from in the studio. The challenge and fun for her is to create a vertical composition that is well balanced, and yet a bit funky.
