Juror: Tim Miller
Tim Miller began his formal art education as a graduate of The Colorado Institute of Art. After spending 11 years as a graphic designer, he received his teaching license from Metro State University and has been the drawing and painting teacher at Golden High School for the past 21 years. His students have won numerous best-of-show awards, and Tim was awarded the Colorado High School Art Teacher of the Year in 2013. Tim is also a working artist, focusing on plein air landscapes, along with portraits of humans and animals. He has had his work in galleries and shows throughout the metro Denver area. In observation of artwork, he is looking for the work to initially express a “big idea” and then to see other elements and principles within the artwork help to strengthen that idea to form an esthetically pleasing composition.
